Shopping

As soon as you leave they get you.  At the exit of every large tourist attraction there are shops peddling every trinket under the sun.  Silks, embroderies, fans, wood carvings....any kind of momento that a tourist might buy.  There is a market at the exit of the Humble Administrator's Garden, and Theresa and Kathy spent a good deal of quality time shopping there.

Photos below are typical market area stuff.

Photo at top is at the tea shop.  The old saying about "all the tea in China" now has meaning for me.  The Chinese make an art of tea the way the French make an art of wine.  There are countless varieties and an uncountable number of brands.  At shops like this one, you can sample a new one or create your own mixture.
